UP NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2 Revised Schedule Released; Second Merit List Out

The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh has released the revised schedule for Round 2 of UP NEET UG Counselling 2026. The authority has also published the Second Merit List on September 21, 2026. Candidates can check the merit list and participate in the next stage of counselling through the official portal at upneet.gov.in. The revised schedule follows the earlier postponement of the Round 2 counselling process. The updated timeline now provides candidates with a fresh window to complete online choice filling and locking from September 21 to September 24, 2026. According to the revised schedule, the Round 2 seat allotment result will be announced on September 25, 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats will then have to complete admission and reporting formalities between September 26 and October 1, 2026. The counselling process covers admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes under the Uttar Pradesh state counselling system.

UP NEET UG Round 2 Revised Schedule 2026

Candidates should follow the revised schedule rather than the earlier Round 2 timeline. The official UPNEET website currently displays the revised second-round counselling notice.

UP NEET UG Round 2 Second Merit List 2026 Released

The UP NEET UG Round 2 Second Merit List 2026 was released on September 21. Candidates who registered for the second round can check whether their names appear in the state merit list. The merit list is an important eligibility step for the subsequent choice-filling process. Candidates included in the applicable Round 2 merit list can proceed with their college and course preferences during the notified choice-filling window.

Candidates should carefully check their:

• Name
• NEET UG 2026 roll number
• State merit rank
• NEET-related details
• Category
• Qualifying status
• The merit list should not be confused with the seat allotment result. A candidate's inclusion in the merit list does not by itself confirm an MBBS or BDS seat.

Who Can Participate in UP NEET UG Round 2?

Candidates must meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by DGME Uttar Pradesh and the applicable NEET UG admission rules. The Round 2 process includes candidates who registered during the notified registration window. The recent registration period ran from September 14 to September 17, 2026. Current reports confirm that candidates who registered for the second round can proceed to the choice-filling stage based on the revised schedule. Candidates participating in Round 2 should check their name in the Second Merit List before proceeding with choice filling. Candidates who already participated in an earlier round may also be eligible for further participation according to the applicable counselling rules.

UP NEET UG Round 2 Choice Filling Starts Today

The online choice-filling window begins on September 21, 2026, alongside the release of the Second Merit List. Candidates must submit their preferred colleges and courses before the choice-filling window closes on September 24, 2026. The order of preferences is important because the seat allotment process considers the candidate's choices along with merit, category and available seats. Candidates should review the available options carefully before locking their preferences.

How to Fill UP NEET UG Round 2 Choices?

1. Visit the official UP NEET counselling portal.
2. Log in using the registered credentials.
3. Open the choice-filling section.
4. Select preferred medical and dental colleges.
5. Choose the relevant MBBS or BDS course options.
6. Arrange the choices according to preference.
7. Review the complete list carefully.
8. Lock the choices before the September 24 deadline.
9. Download or print the submitted choice list for reference.
10. Candidates should complete the process well before the deadline instead of waiting for the final hours.

What Happens If Choices Are Not Locked?

Candidates should follow the specific instructions displayed on the counselling portal regarding unsubmitted or unlocked preferences. Once choices are finally locked, candidates may not be able to modify them during the same choice-filling window. Therefore, candidates should verify the preference order, college names and course selections before completing the final submission.

UP NEET UG Round 2 Seat Allotment Date

The UP NEET UG Round 2 seat allotment result is scheduled for September 25, 2026. The allotment will be processed after the choice-filling window closes.
