Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix Released; Check MBBS & BDS Seats

The Chhattisgarh NEET UG Seat Matrix 2026 has been released for students who are taking part in the state counselling process for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses. This matrix gives students information about the number of seats that are available across various institutions, helping them understand how many seats are available for different categories and quotas in the NEET UG 2026 process. The release of this seat matrix is an important step before students finalise their college and course choices. Students aiming to get admission to MBBS and BDS programmes through Chhattisgarh state counselling can use this matrix to check the availability of seats in government and other participating medical and dental colleges.

Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix

The seat matrix includes details of seats available at each college, divided according to categories. Students can use this information to find out which colleges offer MBBS and BDS seats and to understand the number of seats available before submitting their choices. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has also released its NEET UG 2026 seat matrix for the All India counselling process. However, students participating in Chhattisgarh state counselling should refer only to the seat matrix specific to the state process and follow the instructions from the state counselling authorities.

Government Medical Colleges in Chhattisgarh

The Chhattisgarh seat matrix includes government medical colleges that are part of the NEET UG admission process. These colleges are popular due to their lower tuition fees and well-established clinical facilities.

Some of the government colleges that are part of the Chhattisgarh NEET counselling process are:

• Government Medical College, Kanker
• Government Medical College, Korba
• Government Medical College, Mahasamund
• Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Government Medical College, Durg
• Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur

The availability of seats can change based on the counseling round, the quota, and the category. Therefore, students should rely on the latest 2026 seat matrix instead of looking at previous year’s data.

MBBS Seats in Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026

Students who are seeking admission to MBBS should look through the seat matrix before choosing their preferences. The matrix has information about available seats at different colleges and how they are divided into various categories. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has reported that the total number of MBBS seats in India has increased for the 2026-27 academic year. The national count of MBBS seats has gone up to 136,939 from 1,27,028 in 2025, which means 9,911 more seats have been added across the country. However, this national increase does not mean that all Chhattisgarh medical colleges have more seats. Students should check the official Chhattisgarh 2026 seat matrix to know the exact number of seats available at each institution.

BDS Seats in Chhattisgarh

The seat matrix also includes information about the BDS admissions for eligible NEET UG candidates. Dental aspirants should look at the college-wise distribution of BDS seats before preparing their option list. Like MBBS admissions, BDS seats can be divided into different categories and quotas. Students should also check whether a specific college and course is available to them based on their eligibility and the counseling rules in place.

Category-Wise Seat Distribution

One of the key aspects of the Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 seat matrix is the breakdown of seats by category. Students should check how many seats are available under their applicable category. The seat matrix can help them understand the availability of seats in categories such as:

• General/Open
• Other Backward Classes
• Scheduled Caste
• Scheduled Tribe
• Economically Weaker Section
• Other applicable reserved categories

The exact category structure and terminology should be verified from the official 2026 counselling documents as the number of seats can vary by institution and quota.

Why the Chhattisgarh NEET UG 2026 Seat Matrix Is Important

The seat matrix isn’t just a document. It can help candidates make better decisions when filling in their counseling preferences.

Before finalizing their choices, candidates should:

• Check the list of colleges participating in the process.
• Identify the MBBS and BDS courses that are available to them.
• Check the number of seats available at each college.
• Review the seat availability by category.
• Consider their NEET UG 2026 rank and eligibility.
• Prepare a preference list based on realistic choices.
• Keep the preferred colleges higher in the option list.
• Recheck their choices before they are submitted.

Candidates should not base their preference list solely on previous year cut-offs, as seat availability, candidate preferences, and the dynamics of the counselling process can vary from one year to the next.

Seat Matrix and Choice Filling

The release of the seat matrix is especially important for students who are preparing their college preferences. Students should use the available seat information along with their NEET UG rank, category, and eligibility to create their choice list. A college with many seats might offer more choices than one with fewer seats, but students should also think about factors like location, academic facilities, hospital exposure, fees, and their personal preferences. Candidates should remember that the seat matrix represents the seat availability for the specific stage of counselling. Seats can change in subsequent rounds due to factors like upgradations, withdrawals, new seats being added, or other changes in the counselling process.

Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026: What Candidates Should Do Next?

After looking at the seat matrix, candidates who are eligible should start working on the next step of the counseling process before the deadline.

Candidates should:

• Review the available MBBS and BDS seats.
• Make a list of their preferred colleges.
• Check if they are eligible for each college they choose.
• Fill in their choices carefully on the counselling website.
• Arrange the choices in the order they want.
• Lock or submit their choices as told.
• Make a copy of the final choice list.
• Keep an eye on the website for the seat allocation results.

Candidates should not wait until the last minute to fill in their choices, as there might be technical problems or high traffic on the website, which can cause issues.

Government vs Private Medical Colleges

For those aiming for government medical colleges, the seat matrix can help them find all the available government MBBS seats before they submit their preferences. Government medical colleges usually have a lot of competition because they cost less. Private colleges may have more seats, but the fees can be quite different. So, candidates should think about their financial situation along with their NEET rank and preferred college before adding private colleges to their choice list.
