SRMJEEE 2026 candidates intensify mock-test practice ahead of CBT rounds

As the month of March 2026 begins, the B.Tech admission cycle at the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) is moving into its most active phase. While the national engineering entrance tests are concluding their sessions, the SRMJEEE 2026 aspirants are now focusing on the specialized pattern of the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination. This month is particularly critical as students shift from completing their Class 12 board exams to specialized preparation for the Phase 1 exam. The university has confirmed that the first phase will be held in April, but the mock-test window has already been activated to help students get familiar with the Remote Proctored Online Mode (RPOM). This year, the SRMJEEE 2026 is strictly an online exam that candidates can take from the comfort of their homes. However, this convenience requires high technical readiness and a stable internet connection. Students must adhere to the deadlines for the registration link to be eligible for their preferred phase and campus.

• Phase 1 Deadline: The last date to submit the online application for the first phase is April 16, 2026.
• Phase 1 Exam Dates: The Phase 1 exam is officially scheduled to take place from April 23 to April 28, 2026.
• Phase 2 and 3: For those who miss the first round, Phase 2 is set for June 10-15, and Phase 3 for July 4-5, 2026.
• Slot Booking: Candidates who complete their registration can book their preferred exam slots in mid-April.

Exam Pattern and Subject-Wise Marking Scheme

The SRMJEEE 2026 follows a student-friendly pattern with a unique marking scheme. For the 2026 academic session, the board has confirmed that there is absolutely no negative marking, which encourages students to attempt every question. The mock-test window on the official site reflects the newly updated 130-question format. During March, aspirants are advised to focus on the SRMJEEE Official Syllabus which covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology along with English and Aptitude.

• Physics and Chemistry: Each of these core science sections contains 35 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
• Mathematics/Biology: This section is the most weighted, with 40 questions worth 40 marks.
• Aptitude and English: A combined section of 20 questions (15 Aptitude and 5 English) tests the logical reasoning of the candidate.
• Marking Logic: Every correct response earns +1 mark, and no marks are deducted for incorrect or unattempted answers.
• RPOM Setup: Since the exam is remote-proctored, candidates must ensure their laptop has a working webcam and a minimum 1 Mbps internet speed.

Documentation and Technical Readiness for RPOM

To participate in the Phase 1 exam, candidates must complete their registration link formalities with valid documents. The university uses an AI-based system to verify the identity of the student during the test. Any mismatch in the enrolment details can lead to the cancellation of the result. Students are currently using the month of March to update their [suspicious link removed] and other academic certificates for a smooth B.Tech admission process.

• Photograph Specs: Upload a recent color passport-size photo with a clear background as per the portal's size limits.
• ID Verification: A valid government-issued ID like an Aadhaar card is mandatory for the biometric verification step.
• Technical Check: Before the mock-test window closes, ensure your system is compatible with the "Safe Exam Browser" provided by SRMIST.
• Candidate Login: Always use the SRM Query Management System for any issues regarding payment or document re-upload.
