CENTAC NEET UG 2026 Stray Registration Extended to 21 October, 5 PM

CENTAC has extended the last date for NEET UG 2026 stray-round registration and fee payment to 21 October 2026, 5:00 PM. The Centralised Admission Committee’s notice is dated 20 October and says no further extension will be given for registration. This is a Puducherry UG NEET counselling update. It is not the new CENTAC MD/MS admission notice, not PG dental counselling and not an allotment result. Candidates should complete the applicable registration steps through the official portal and keep proof of successful payment before the deadline.
What exactly has been extended?
The extension covers the last date for stray-round registration and payment of the registration fee for UG NEET-based medical courses. It gives eligible candidates an additional day beyond the earlier closing date.
| Item | Current position |
|---|---|
| Stray-round registration | Available until 21 October 2026, 5:00 PM |
| Registration-fee payment | Available until 21 October 2026, 5:00 PM |
| Further registration extension | The notice says none will be given |
| Seat allotment | Not announced by this extension notice |
The earlier stray-round notice covers vacancies under government, management and NRI quotas and separately describes fresh applications for BDS and BAMS only. Do not read the fresh-application provision as a general reopening for every course or quota.
Registration is not a seat allotment
Completing registration allows an eligible candidate to be considered under the applicable process; it does not confirm a seat. Allotment depends on the governing eligibility rules, the relevant merit position, available vacancies, quota and the choices or willingness accepted for the round. Candidates should therefore avoid treating a payment receipt as an admission letter. A college name shown in an earlier vacancy list also does not guarantee that the same seat remains available when allotment is processed.
Check the correct notice before acting
Open the official CENTAC portal and use the UG NEET section. Read the 20 October extension together with the 17 October stray-round registration notice. A separate 19 October notice deals with willingness for BDS and BAMS management-quota seats. The new extension notice does not say that every separate willingness, preference or resignation deadline has moved. Apply the 21 October extension only to registration and registration-fee payment unless CENTAC issues another specific notice.
What candidates should do before 5 PM
Log in through the official candidate dashboard rather than a third-party link. Check that the application details match your NEET UG record, select the applicable course and quota only where the portal permits it, and complete the payment early enough to handle a failed transaction. After payment, confirm that the dashboard shows a successful status. Download the acknowledgement and receipt, and retain the transaction reference. A bank debit without a successful portal status may need prompt follow-up through CENTAC’s official helpdesk. Keep identity, NEET, category, residence and other applicable admission documents ready for later scrutiny. Do not upload altered files or assume that registration removes document-verification requirements.
What happens after registration?
Candidates should watch the same UG NEET page for the current eligible list, vacancy information, allotment notice and reporting instructions. These are separate documents and may be issued or revised at different times. If CENTAC publishes a later corrigendum, that newer notice will govern the affected step. Until then, the immediate task is to complete registration and fee payment by 5:00 PM on 21 October 2026, save proof of submission and wait for the official round-specific update.
