What Round 1 Allottees Should Do Today
Report in person to the allotted college before 5:30 PM with original documents and the required fees. Fees are paid by demand draft, NEFT or RTGS. Check your college’s notice for the exact document list.
Joining is mandatory. Under the information brochure, resigning after today’s deadline attracts a penalty. The CET Cell advises candidates to fill only those colleges they will actually join.
If You Were Not Allotted a Seat in Round 1
Round 2 is the next opportunity. Candidates must fill fresh choices for each round, because earlier preferences do not carry forward. Choices from CAP Round 3 are void. The Round 2 window closes at 11 AM on 22 October, so the time left is short.
Who Was Eligible, and Who Was Not
Candidates could take part if they:
- qualified in NEET UG 2026,
- registered for state counselling and filled preferences earlier,
- were not allotted a seat up to CAP Round 3, and
- met clause 4 of the information brochure.
New registration was not offered. Not eligible:
- Candidates who joined and hold a state seat up to Round 3, including fresh Round 3 allottees
- Candidates who joined and hold an All India Quota seat up to Round 3
- Candidates allotted a seat in an All India Quota stray round
- Candidates allotted a seat in stray Round 1, who cannot take part in later stray rounds
What Happens Next
- 22 October: Round 2 choice filling closes at 11 AM, and the Round 2 selection list is due.
- 23–24 October: Round 2 joining, until 5:30 PM.
- 24–25 October: Round 3 seat matrix and choice filling, until 11 AM.
- 25 October: Round 3 selection list.
- 26 October: Round 3 joining and the final MCC joining date.
Why the Dates Changed
The CET Cell’s first schedule (Notice No. 23, dated 12 October) had earlier dates, including a Round 1 selection list on 17 October. A later notice replaced it. The revised schedule follows MCC’s All India Quota stray schedule, under which MCC’s stray result was also due on 19 October. The original notice excludes candidates allotted a seat in an All India Quota stray round. The reports reviewed do not explain how this was applied on 19 October.
