What Should Candidates Do After the Final Merit List?

Candidates whose names appear in the Round 2 final State Merit List should now focus on registration and choice filling.

They should:

1. open the JCECEB online counselling portal;
2. complete the required Round 2 registration/payment formalities, where applicable;
3. review the available MDS seats;
4. enter and arrange choices in their genuine order of preference;
5. complete choice filling within the September 24–26 window;
6. check for the provisional seat-allotment letter on September 27.

The official notice also states that candidates who were already enlisted in the State Merit List for Round 1 do not need to submit the application again for preparation of the Round 2 merit list.

Does Appearing in the Final Merit List Mean a Seat Is Allotted?

No. The final merit list establishes the candidate's merit position for the Round 2 counselling process. Seat allotment takes place only after candidates complete the choice-filling stage and JCECEB processes those choices against available seats. JCECEB has scheduled the provisional seat-allotment letter for September 27, 2026. Candidates should therefore avoid treating inclusion in the merit list as confirmation of admission.

Jharkhand MDS Round 2 Reporting and Document Verification

Certificate/document verification and admission are scheduled from September 27 to September 30, 2026. Candidates should carry the original documents required under JCECEB's admission rules and any documents specifically mentioned in their allotment/admission instructions. The Board's notice states that security money may be forfeited if a candidate does not take admission after a Round 2 seat allotment. It also states that presenting the required original certificates at admission is necessary. A full document checklist should be taken from the applicable JCECEB/allotted-institute instructions rather than relying on an unverified generic checklist.
