JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Correction Window Opens; NTA Allows Candidates to Edit Application Details
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially activated the Correction Window for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 (April Attempt) today. Following the conclusion of the registration process earlier this week, the portal, jeemain.nta.nic.in, is now open for registered candidates to rectify errors in their application forms. This facility is particularly crucial for students who may have entered incorrect category details or educational qualifications during the initial rush.

Candidates have a limited window until March 1, 2026 (up to 11:50 PM), to make these changes. After this period, no further requests for modifications will be entertained under any circumstances.

Aspirants must note that while some corrections are free, changes in certain fields like "Category" or "Number of Papers" may require an additional fee payment.

| Correction Window End Date | March 01, 2026 (11:50 PM) |

What Can You Edit? A Guide for Aspirants
The NTA has categorized the fields that can be modified to maintain the integrity of the registration process.
- Editable Fields: Candidates can typically edit their Category (e.g., General to OBC-NCL), Sub-category (PwD status), Educational Details (Class 10 and 12 marks), and the Medium of Examination.
- Additional Papers: If a student initially applied only for B.E./B.Tech (Paper 1), they can use this window to add B.Arch (Paper 2A) or B.Planning (Paper 2B) by paying the differential fee.
- Restricted Fields: Core identity markers such as the Candidate's Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, Gender, and Date of Birth are usually non-editable if they were verified via Aadhaar.
- Photograph & Signature: These can only be changed if the NTA has flagged them as "image discrepancy" through an email or SMS notification.
Why Accuracy is Critical at This Stage
The data finalized during this correction window will be directly utilized for the JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) and CSAB counseling process. An error in the "Category" field, for instance, can lead to the cancellation of a seat at an NIT or IIIT during physical verification if the certificate does not match the application. Furthermore, the exam center allocation is based on the "Permanent and Present Address" provided; hence, ensuring these are accurate is vital for receiving a convenient test city.
What After March 1?
Once the correction window closes, the NTA will begin the process of generating the Advance City Intimation Slips, which are expected to be released in the third week of March. Candidates are advised to download and save their "Revised Confirmation Page" after making corrections, as it serves as the final legal record of their application. With the April exam just weeks away, this is also the time to switch from "Topic Completion" to "Full-Length Mock Tests."
