The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur has postponed the release of the IIT JAM 2027 Information Brochure. The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is conducted for admission to postgraduate science programs offered by participating IITs and other institutes. IIT Kharagpur is the organising institute for the JAM 2027 examination.

The revised brochure release date comes just five days before the application process begins. As per the schedule, JAM 2027 registration will start on September 5, 2026, through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).

What Will the IIT JAM 2027 Brochure Include?

The information brochure will serve as the main reference document for candidates throughout the application and examination process. It is expected to include details about the seven JAM test papers, syllabus, exam pattern, marking scheme and permitted paper combinations.

The brochure will also provide information about:

  • Eligibility criteria for participating postgraduate programmes
  • Participating institutes and available programmes
  • Examination cities across India
  • Application fee and payment methods
  • Reservation rules and seat-related information
  • Instructions for filling out the application form
  • Documents and specifications required during registration

For JAM 2027, candidates should also note that international examination centres will not be available, with examination cities located within India.

How to Download JAM 2027 Information Brochure?

Once released, candidates can download the brochure by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official JAM 2027 website.
  2. Look for the Information Brochure link on the homepage.
  3. Click on the link to open the PDF.
  4. Check the eligibility, syllabus, exam pattern and application instructions.
  5. Download and save the brochure for future reference.

Candidates are advised to rely on the official brochure for the final rules and requirements rather than information from unofficial sources.

JAM 2027 Registration Through JOAPS

The JAM 2027 application process will begin on September 5, 2026. Candidates will have to register through the JOAPS portal and complete the application form online.

Applicants will need to create an account, enter their personal and academic details, upload the required documents and pay the application fee through the available online payment options. After submitting the form, candidates should download and retain the confirmation page.

Since registration begins only five days after the revised brochure release, candidates should use the intervening period to check their eligibility, review their preferred test paper and prepare the required documents.

What Candidates Should Do Now?

Candidates planning to appear for JAM 2027 should keep track of the official website on August 31, 2026, when the revised brochure is scheduled to be released. After downloading it, they should carefully verify the syllabus, eligibility requirements, paper combinations and application instructions.

With registration opening on September 5, candidates should have their documents and other application details ready in advance. The application deadline is October 12, 2026, so applicants should avoid waiting until the final day to submit their forms.

The JAM 2027 examination is scheduled for February 14, 2027, while the results are expected to be announced on March 18, 2027.
