Revised IIT Bombay mid-sem exam dates
| Original date | Revised date |
|---|---|
| Saturday, September 26 | Saturday, October 10 |
| Sunday, September 27 | Sunday, October 11 |
Students will write the same papers on the revised dates. The day-wise mapping follows from "same timetable" [VERIFY slot timings and scope in the official notice].
Why were the exams postponed?
According to the institute's communication, the postponement gives a newly constituted committee time to prepare a clear, student-friendly standard operating procedure (SOP) for invigilators and to revise rules on academic misconduct. The committee has equal student representation.
The change also gives students extra time to prepare.
What students should do
- Check the revised dates and prepare for the same papers.
- Keep following official communications from IIT Bombay for any further changes.
- Confirm whether the change covers your programme [VERIFY scope].
Context
The decision comes after the death of a student at the institute earlier this month, which led to protests on campus. Students have reportedly submitted an 18-point charter of demands [VERIFY]. The institute has begun an internal review and formed a 10-member high-level committee, and police are investigating. Classes resumed on Wednesday, September 23.
