IISER 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment LIVE: Steps to Check Allotment Letter & Pay Seat Acceptance Fee
Published 10 Aug 20263 min read
The wait is over for IISER aspirants — Round 3 seat allotment results for IAT 2026 go live today, August 10, 2026. If you're one of the candidates who applied through IISER Berhampur's admission portal, you can check where you stand once the link is activated on iiseradmission.in. Just a heads-up though: last time, Round 2 results were supposed to come out at a certain hour but got delayed, so don't panic if Round 3 takes a little longer too.
Anyone who gets an offer this round has until August 13, 2026 to pay the seat acceptance fee — miss that, and the offer's gone for good.
Checking Your Round 3 Allotment: What to Do
Here's how to pull up your result once it's live:
- Go to the IAT 2026 admission website, iiseradmission.in
- Click on the Round 3 offer letter link
- Log in with your credentials
- Head to the 'Submit Reference' tab
- Click "Click Here to Submit Your Decision"
- Open your offer letter
- It'll show up on screen — read it carefully
- Submit your preference before the deadline
Got an Offer? Here's What Happens Next
If you're allotted a seat, you'll need to decide how you want to move forward — either lock it in with 'Freeze' if you're happy with what you got, or go with 'Float' if you'd rather keep your options open for the next round. Either way, you'll need to pay the seat acceptance fee (SAF) online — net banking, debit card, or credit card are the only options accepted.
How Much Will the Seat Acceptance Fee Cost?
| Category | SAF (INR) |
|---|---|
| General/EWS/OBC-NCL/PwD/KM | 35,000 |
| SC/ST | 17,500 |
Counselling Rounds: What's Coming Up
| Round | Dates |
|---|---|
| Round 3 | August 10–13, 2026 |
| Round 4 | August 18–20, 2026 |
| Round 5 | August 24–26, 2026 |
Round 3 allotment is expected around 5 PM today. For comparison, Round 2 went live at 8 PM — so there's a decent chance things could run a bit late again this time.
A Few Things Worth Knowing
What if I miss the fee payment deadline?
You'll lose the offer entirely and won't be considered in any upcoming rounds. So don't cut it close — get the payment done well before August 13.
Do I need original documents when I report to the institute?
Yes, absolutely. Carry your originals along with photocopies — don't leave home without both.
How many total seats are up for grabs across all IISERs?
There are 2,343 seats combined across all the IISER campuses. An updated seat matrix after Round 2, though, hasn't been released yet.
What decides whether I get an offer?
It comes down to your IAT rank, how many seats are actually available, your own preference order, and your category.
Where can I find closing ranks?
IISER Berhampur has already put out closing ranks for Rounds 1 through 3 on its website — worth checking to see where you'd realistically land.
Quick FAQs
How often is the IISER entrance exam held?
Just once a year. This year's IAT was conducted on June 7, 2026, for the 2026-27 academic session, with IISER Berhampur handling the exam.
Does IISER publish a cutoff?
Yes — going by past years, they release round-wise and institute-wise closing ranks after each round, which effectively serve as the cutoff.
How does IISER counselling actually work?
It's entirely online. You register, list your institute and course preferences in order, and get matched based on that. If you like your offer, freeze it; if not, float for the next round. Once you've paid the seat acceptance fee, you report to your allotted institute and complete the admission formalities.
What's the exam's marking scheme?
Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology — 60 marks each, adding up to 240 total, with the marking evenly split across sections.
What's the qualifying cutoff?
You'll need 100+ marks overall to qualify, though the exact cutoff shifts depending on your category.
