The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will close FMGE October 2026 registration tomorrow, September 25, 2026, at 11:55 PM. Applications are accepted only through natboard.edu.in. The exam is on October 31, 2026, in computer-based mode. The application fee is ₹4,650 including GST.

Who can apply?

FMGE is a screening test for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who hold a primary medical qualification from an institution outside India. It is meant for candidates seeking provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council. Many candidates also need an NMC Eligibility Certificate. It is a separate application, reported to be open from September 1 (10 AM) to September 30 (6 PM), 2026. Candidates who already hold a certificate from an earlier session are reported not to need a new one.

How to apply

1. Go to natboard.edu.in and create an online profile to generate a User ID and password.
2. Log in and open the FMGE October 2026 application through "Go To Application" .
3. Fill in personal, identification, qualification and other details.
4. Upload your photograph, signature and thumb impression in the prescribed format.
5. Choose your test cities [VERIFY the number allowed] and pay the fee online.
6. Check that payment status shows "S", then save the confirmation page.

FMGE October 2026 fee and payment

The fee is ₹4,650 including 18% GST. It is reported as reduced for this session. Other sites quote different amounts, so check the information bulletin. Do not wait for the last minute. The application is complete only when the payment status in the form reads "S". If it says pending, the payment may be stuck at your bank. NBEMS is not responsible for rejection caused by a bank's late settlement. Fees are forfeited for candidates who are absent or declared ineligible.

Check these before you submit

• Aadhaar: once entered in the Identification Details section, it cannot be changed at any stage, including the edit window.
• Other locked fields: name, nationality, email ID, mobile number and test city cannot be changed in the edit window.
• Photograph: photo capture may happen in real time during the application. Wear formal clothes and sit against a plain white background.

The edit window on September 29–30 lets candidates change information or documents in the application, apart from the locked fields above. The selective edit window on October 3–19 is for fixing images that are deficient or incorrect. NBEMS emails candidates who need to fix them. Failing to do so may lead to rejection or no admit card.

About the October session

The October exam is an additional session, so FMGE is now held three times in 2026. The exam earlier set for January 9, 2027, is reported to move to late January or February 2027. The revised date has not been announced.
