How to Submit Choices and Lock Preferences

Candidates must complete two distinct steps before the deadline:

Step 1: Choice Filling (by 10:00 PM)
Log in to the candidate portal at dme.assam.gov.in. Select your preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. Candidates should review their selections carefully before proceeding to locking.

Step 2: Choice Locking (7:00 PM to 11:59 PM)
After filling choices, candidates must lock their preferences within the specified window. Locked choices are considered final for seat allotment. Candidates should verify that their selected colleges and courses are correctly reflected before locking.

Important distinction: Choice filling closes at 10:00 PM, while the locking window continues until 11:59 PM. Candidates should not assume that filling choices automatically locks them. Both steps are required .

What Happens After Choice Locking

Seat allotment processing will be conducted on November 6, 2026. The allotment result will be published on November 7, 2026 on the DME Assam portal.

Candidates who receive a seat must follow the admission instructions issued with their allotment. The reporting and joining window is scheduled for November 16, 2026. Failure to report within the specified timeline may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Candidates should keep the following documents ready for reporting:
