The National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad has released important instructions in an article regarding the Bachelor of Design course’s final result. The article involves the institute's preference submission, seat allotment process, document upload, and the payment procedures for the 2026 admission cycle.
OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION
According to the official notification, the Bachelor of Design final result will be declared on or before May 28, 2026. Candidates who qualify the examination will have to complete multiple admission-related formalities within the prescribed timeline through the official admission portal.
After the declaration of results, candidates must upload the required documents and finalize their institute preferences between the result announcement date and May 31, 2026 (midnight). Students are allowed to review and modify their uploaded documents and institute choices multiple times before the deadline. However, the last submitted version will be considered final.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
Candidates are required to upload documents in PDF format with a maximum size of 2 MB each. The mandatory documents include a valid photo identity proof, birth certificate, Class 10th mark sheet, Class 12th mark sheet, category certificate (if applicable), Person with Disabilities (PwD) certificate, passport for overseas applicants, and transfer or migration certificate. Students whose Class 12 results are not yet declared must upload a signed self-undertaking form and submit their qualifying mark sheet before July 15, 2026. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of provisional admission and forfeiture of fees.
SEAT ALLOCATION PROCESS
The Round-01 seat allotment process will begin after institute preferences are submitted. Seats will be allotted according to merit rank, category, and institute preference. Candidates who receive their first-choice institute can either accept or decline the seat. If they decline, they will not be considered for further rounds. Candidates allotted lower preferences may still participate in upward movement during the next few rounds.
To confirm the admission process, selected candidates must pay a token amount within the specified timeline from June 9 to June 11, 2026. Indian candidates, including General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PwD categories, must pay ₹45,100 along with applicable convenience charges. Different fee structures apply to overseas candidates based on their region. The token amount will later be adjusted against the first semester fee.
VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS
The National Institute of Design will verify all the uploaded documents before issuing provisional admission offer letters. If any document is found incomplete, invalid, or incorrect, the candidature may be cancelled. Only candidates whose documents are successfully verified and token fees are paid will receive provisional admission letters. Subsequent seat allotment rounds will be conducted depending on seat vacancies in participating NID campuses.
