Road Ahead for Fresh Candidates
The next stage of WBJEE 2026 counselling will open on July 24, 2026, for fresh registration and choice filling. Qualified candidates who did not register earlier can join this stage. Existing candidates who chose Accept and Upgrade will also be considered in the next round for a better allotment. Vacant seats after Round 2 will be added to the seat matrix for the next round, and fresh registration will require a separate counselling fee payment on the portal.
Why This Round Is Crucial
Round 2 is the last chance for many candidates to lock a preferred branch before mop-up. Choosing Accept and Upgrade keeps the current seat safe while also allowing a shot at a better college in the next round.
