For thousands of engineering aspirants in West Bengal, the wait is finally over. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has officially declared the results of the WBJEE 2025, marking the end of a long and tense period of anticipation. With the results now accessible online, the focus has shifted to the next and most critical stage of the admission process: the online counselling and seat allotment.

According to official data, a total of 101,643 candidates appeared for the WBJEE 2025 examination, with an impressive 100,502 aspirants successfully qualifying. This high success rate sets the stage for a competitive yet promising counselling season. The official counselling schedule has been released, and the online registration portal will open on August 28, 2025. This is a crucial step for every qualified candidate aiming for a seat in the top engineering and pharmacy colleges across the state.

Aspirants' Guide to the Online Counselling Process

The WBJEEB has designed a comprehensive, multi-step online counselling process to ensure a fair and transparent seat allotment. The first step for all candidates is to register on the official website wbjeeb.nic.in starting August 28. This registration window will remain open until September 1, 2025. Missing this deadline will result in disqualification from the counselling rounds.

Once registered, candidates must pay the counselling fee and proceed to the choice filling stage. This is a strategic step where aspirants select their preferred colleges and courses in order of priority. The choices must be carefully considered as the seat allotment is based on a candidate's rank, chosen preferences, and category. The portal will allow candidates to edit their choices until September 1, after which all selections will be automatically locked.

The seat allotment will be conducted in two main rounds. The first round result is scheduled to be declared on September 3, 2025, and the second on September 9, 2025. Candidates who are allotted a seat in either round must pay a seat acceptance fee and complete the document verification process by the specified deadlines.

Important Dates and Document Checklist

With the counselling window opening soon, aspirants must have their documents ready. A seamless verification process is key to securing admission. Here’s a quick checklist of essential documents:

  • WBJEE 2025 Rank Card
  • WBJEE 2025 Admit Card
  • Class 10th and 12th Marksheets
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)
  • Category/Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Income Certificate
  • Passport-size Photographs

The WBJEEB has also released the final answer key and topper list, which includes Aniruddha Chakrabarti from Don Bosco School, who secured the first rank. This year's merit list showcases remarkable talent, highlighting the high standards of the exam. For further updates on the counselling process and for regular updates, follow Only Education News.
