The Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is continuing its undergraduate admission process for the 2026-27 academic session. As of January 29, 2026, the online portal for the VITEEE 2026 remains fully operational, allowing students from across the country to register for the national-level engineering entrance exam. This year, the institute has maintained a streamlined digital application system to manage the high volume of aspirants applying for seats at its Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal campuses. The primary registration window is slated to stay open until March 31, providing a broad timeframe for students currently appearing for their board examinations.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Requirements

To participate in the upcoming VITEEE cycle, candidates must fulfill specific academic and age-related standards set by the university.

• Academic Qualifications: Applicants are required to have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology in their Class 12 qualifying exam. A relaxation to 50% is provided for SC/ST candidates and those hailing from North-Eastern states.
• Age Limit: Only those candidates born on or after July 1, 2004, are eligible to apply for the 2026 sessions.
• Document Checklist: Digital copies of a recent passport-size photograph and the candidate's signature must be uploaded during the process. The official guidelines specify that these files must meet strict size requirements to be accepted by the portal.

Revised Exam Pattern and Fee Structure

The 2026-27 session introduces a significant update to the marking scheme, which aspirants must consider during their preparation phases.

Important Dates and Slot Booking Process

The VITEEE 2026 schedule indicates that the entrance test will be conducted in a proctored, computer-based format.

• Examination Dates: The test is tentatively scheduled to take place between April 28 and May 3, 2026.
• Online Test Booking System (OTBS): Once the registration phase concludes, the university will activate the OTBS. This allows aspirants to book their specific exam date, time slot, and city on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Result Declaration: Following the completion of the April-May cycle, results and rank lists are expected to be released in the second week of May 2026.

Conclusion
