UPTAC (AKTU) has released its Round 1 seat allotment for B.Tech. Today, August 1, is the final day for candidates to pay the seat confirmation fee and choose to Freeze or Float.

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling (UPTAC) has released the seat allotment results for Round 1 of counselling for admission to B.Tech courses. The provisional allotment list for colleges affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) was published on July 30, 2025. Today, August 1, 2025, marks the final day for candidates to take action on their allotted seats.

Aspirants must log in to the official UPTAC portal, uptac.admissions.nic.in, to check their seat allotment status and submit their online willingness (Freeze/Float) by 11:59 PM tonight. It is also the last day to pay the seat confirmation fee to secure the allotted seat.

What to do after seat allotment:

Upon checking their results, candidates have a choice to either "Freeze" or "Float" their seat:

  • Freeze: This option should be chosen if the candidate is satisfied with the allotted college and course and does not wish to participate in subsequent rounds of counselling. After paying the seat confirmation fee, they must report to the allotted college for document verification and final admission.
  • Float: This option allows candidates to accept their current allotted seat while simultaneously indicating their interest in being considered for a higher-preference college or course in Round 2. They must pay the seat confirmation fee to retain their Round 1 seat.

Failure to pay the seat confirmation fee and choose either the "Freeze" or "Float" option by the deadline will result in the forfeiture of the allotted seat, and the candidate will be considered ineligible for further rounds of counselling.

Next Steps and Key Dates:

For candidates who have not been allotted a seat or have chosen to "Float," the next round of counselling is as follows:

  • Choice Filling for Round 2: Begins on August 2, 2025.
  • Round 2 Seat Allotment Result: Expected to be released on August 5, 2025.

Aspirants are strongly urged to act immediately and complete their seat confirmation process on the official UPTAC website, as today is the final day for Round 1.
