The online seat acceptance and fee payment window for the first round of UPTAC (Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling) for B.Tech admissions has officially closed. All candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 had until August 1 to submit their willingness (Freeze/Float) and pay the seat confirmation fee. With that deadline now passed, the next crucial phase of the counselling process has begun.

According to the official schedule released by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), the online choice-filling and locking for UPTAC Round 2 has started today, August 2, 2025. This provides a new opportunity for thousands of aspirants who are yet to secure a seat in a college affiliated with AKTU.

What Happened in Round 1:

The Round 1 seat allotment result was published on July 30. Candidates who were allotted a seat had two options:

  1. Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and exit the counselling process. This requires paying the seat confirmation fee and downloading the Provisional Allotment Letter.
  2. Float: Accept the allotted seat but remain in subsequent rounds to be considered for a better preference. This also requires paying the seat confirmation fee.

Candidates who failed to submit their willingness and pay the fee by the August 1 deadline have been disqualified from further participation in the main counselling rounds. The seat acceptance fee was ₹20,000 for General and OBC categories and ₹12,000 for SC and ST candidates.

Crucial Details for Round 2:

All candidates who were not allotted a seat in Round 1 or those who chose to 'Float' are eligible to participate in the second round. They are strongly advised to fill in their preferences carefully based on their rank and the available seats.

  • Choice Filling and Locking: The window is open from August 2 to August 3, 2025.
  • Round 2 Seat Allotment Result: The result is scheduled to be declared on August 5, 2025.
  • Seat Confirmation & Willingness: This process will take place from August 5 to August 7, 2025.

Aspirants must visit the official UPTAC website, uptac.admissions.nic.in, to fill their choices. This is a critical period, and missing the deadline will result in missing out on a valuable opportunity for admission.
