The Round 2 seat allotment result is expected to be released on July 24, 2026. The authorities have also extended the deadline for paying the Round 1 seat acceptance fee. Candidates can pay the fee until July 22, 2026. The Round 1 seat allotment result was announced on July 18, 2026. UPTAC counseling handles B.Tech. admissions in Uttar Pradesh technical institutes. Who is eligible for UPTAC 2026 Round 2 choice filling?

Three types of candidates can participate in Round 2 choice filling. First are new candidates who registered but didn't choose any options in Round 1. Second are those who didn't get a seat in Round 1. Third are candidates who accepted a seat in Round 1 through the float option. They can try for a better option in Round 2. Candidates who chose the freeze option cannot take part in Round 2 upgrade.

What should Round 1 allottees do before July 22?

Round 1 seat holders need to complete two important steps now. They must pay the seat acceptance fee before the extended deadline. The payment can be made online through the UPTAC portal. They must also decide between freeze and float options. The freeze option locks the current seat and prevents participating in Round 2. The float option keeps the seat but allows for a possible upgrade in Round 2. Failing to pay the fee by the deadline will result in the cancellation of the Round 1 allotment. The candidate would lose their right to participate in further rounds.

How to fill and lock choices for UPTAC 2026 Round 2?

Candidates must follow these steps to complete Round 2 choice filling:

1. Visit the official UPTAC portal at uptac.samarth.edu.in.
2. Click on the candidate login link on the homepage.
3. Enter the application number and password to log in.
4. Open the Round 2 choice filling section from the dashboard.
5. Add the preferred institutes and BTech branches in order of priority.
6. Rearrange the order using the move up or down option.
7. Save the entries after every change to avoid any loss.
8. Click on the lock choices button before the July 22 deadline.
9. Download the locked choices slip for future reference.

Unlocked choices will be automatically locked on July 22 by the system. Candidates should carefully verify all entries before locking.
