Candidates can check their allotment through the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee portal at tnmedicalselection.net. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has published separate provisional allotment lists for Government Quota and Management Quota MDS seats. Candidates who receive a Round 1 seat must complete the admission process and report to the allotted institution by September 11, 2026, up to 5 PM.

Tamil Nadu NEET MDS 2026 Round 1 Important Dates

Candidates should note the separate deadlines for downloading the allotment order and reporting to the college.

Candidates should therefore download their allotment order before the 3 PM portal deadline and complete physical joining before 5 PM on September 11.

Government and Management Quota Allotment Lists Released

The Selection Committee has released separate provisional candidate lists for the two main counselling streams.

These include:

• Government Quota MDS seats
• Management Quota MDS seats
• applicable Minority seats under Management Quota
• applicable NRI seats under Management Quota

The counselling covers MDS seats in Tamil Nadu Government Dental Colleges as well as Government and Management Quota seats in participating self-financing dental colleges. Candidates should check the allotment list corresponding to the quota under which they participated.

How to Check Tamil Nadu NEET MDS Round 1 Allotment

Candidates can check the result through the official Selection Committee portal.

1. Visit tnmedicalselection.net.
2. Open the MDS 2026–27 admission section.
3. Find the September 5 Round 1 allotment notification.
4. Open either the Government Quota or Management Quota provisional allotment list.
5. Search the PDF using the relevant candidate details.
6. Log in to the counselling portal if a seat has been allotted.
7. Download the provisional allotment order within the prescribed deadline.
8. Candidates should rely on the individual allotment order displayed through their login for final reporting instructions.

How to Download the MDS Allotment Order

Tamil Nadu has activated a separate online link for candidates to download their MDS allotment orders. The provisional allotment order can be downloaded from September 6 until September 11, 2026, at 3 PM.

Selected candidates should:

1. Open the MDS counselling portal.
2. Log in with their registered credentials.
3. Verify the allotted course, speciality, college and quota.
4. Complete the applicable online fee requirement.
5. Download the provisional allotment order.
6. Save a digital copy and take a printout for college reporting.

Candidates should not wait until the final few hours because the allotment-order download window closes before the final joining deadline.

What Must Allotted Candidates Do Next?

A candidate receiving an MDS seat must complete both the online and physical admission formalities.

The next steps include:

1. check the allotted college and speciality
2. download the provisional allotment order
3. complete the applicable fee payment
4. arrange all prescribed original certificates
5. check any institution-specific reporting instructions
6. report personally to the allotted dental college
7. complete document verification and admission formalities
8. finish joining by September 11, 2026, at 5 PM

The allotment itself should not be treated as completion of admission. Candidates must complete the required joining formalities within the scheduled period.

Tamil Nadu MDS Round 1 Registration and Security Deposit

For Round 1 online choice filling, candidates were required to pay a ₹1,000 non-refundable registration fee for the applicable Government or Management Quota counselling process.

The counselling schedule also specified refundable security deposits according to the seat category:

Candidates should not confuse the security deposit with the full tuition fee. Tuition and other institutional fees depend on the allotted seat and fee structure applicable for the 2026–27 session.

Documents Required for College Reporting

Candidates should carry the original documents prescribed under the Tamil Nadu MDS admission rules and any additional documents mentioned on their allotment order. These may include relevant NEET MDS, BDS qualification, internship, registration, identity and category documents, depending on the candidate's eligibility and quota. Because document requirements can differ by candidate category, candidates should use the official prospectus and their allotment order as the final checklist rather than relying only on a general online list.

What Happens if a Candidate Misses the September 11 Deadline?

Candidates should treat September 11 at 5 PM as a strict admission deadline. The Round 1 counselling instructions state that a candidate who fails to report to the Head of the allotted institution within the prescribed date and time may have the selection or admission cancelled. Candidates unable to complete joining should also review the counselling prospectus for applicable forfeiture, security-deposit and eligibility consequences before taking any action.

What Comes After TN MDS Round 1?

Seats remaining vacant after Round 1 can move into subsequent counselling according to the Tamil Nadu MDS counselling schedule and applicable state/MCC timelines. The Selection Committee is expected to publish subsequent vacancy and counselling information through tnmedicalselection.net. Candidates seeking later-round participation should therefore monitor the official portal instead of relying on an assumed Round 2 date until the relevant Tamil Nadu notice is issued.
