ICAI CA Foundation January 2027 Mock Tests Start December 1; Check Full Schedule

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced two mock-test series for students appearing in the CA Foundation January 2027 examination. Series I will begin on 1 December 2026, while Series II will start on 14 December 2026.

The Board of Studies announcement says the tests will be conducted in physical and virtual modes. Students planning to take a physical test should contact the relevant ICAI branch in their area and complete the required registration.

CA Foundation mock-test dates

The four subjects follow the same order in both series, but the paper duration is not identical. Accounting and Business Laws run for three hours; Quantitative Aptitude and Business Economics run for two hours.

How students can access the papers

ICAI says each question paper will be uploaded by 1:30 PM on the scheduled day through the BoS Knowledge Portal, the ICAI BoS mobile app and the mock-test registration portal.

Students attempting the paper virtually should download it on time and follow the stated duration. Treating the exercise like the actual examination can make the practice more useful: begin at the scheduled time, avoid checking notes midway and stop when the allotted period ends.

The answer key is scheduled to be uploaded within 48 hours from the commencement time of the respective paper. Students should not expect an answer key immediately after completing a practice attempt.

Registration for physical mock tests

For physical mock tests conducted through ICAI branches or regional offices, use the official MTP registration portal. The announcement gives the following login process:

• Select Student Login.
• First-time users should choose Register Now.
• Enter the ICAI registration number and date of birth.
• After registration, use the email address recorded in the Self Service Portal.
• Enter the OTP received by email to log in.

Branch arrangements can differ by location, so students should verify their selected centre rather than assume that the national timetable automatically confirms a physical seat.

How to use both series effectively

Series I can provide a baseline under timed conditions. After the answer key is released, identify errors caused by incomplete concepts, calculation mistakes, or time pressure. Use the gap before Series II to revise those specific areas.

Attempt Series II under the same disciplined conditions and compare error types, not only raw marks. A lower score in a more difficult paper does not automatically mean weaker preparation; the more useful comparison is whether avoidable mistakes and unfinished questions have reduced.
