As the national entrance exams conclude their first rounds, the spotlight has shifted toward state-level tests. Across India, the Common Entrance Test (CET) boards are managing a high volume of traffic as registration periods for 2026 engineering admissions reach critical stages. Today, marks a major milestone for students in Maharashtra and Karnataka, where the authorities have recently updated their schedules to accommodate more applicants. These state exams are vital for students who want to study in government-aided or private colleges within their home states.

Maharashtra MHT CET 2026 Updates

The State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra has announced a final extension for the MHT CET 2026 registration. Students aiming for B.E. or B.Tech courses (PCM group) now have until February 24, 2026, to apply without any late fees. For those who miss this Tuesday deadline, a special window with a late fee of ₹500 will remain open from February 25 to February 27. This year, the exam is split into two sessions to give students more flexibility. You can access the portal and find the MHT CET official registration link to start your profile.

  • PCM Session 1: April 11 to April 19, 2026.
  • PCM Session 2: May 14 to May 17, 2026.
  • Application Fee: ₹1300 for General and ₹1000 for Reserved categories.

Karnataka KCET 2026 Progress

In Karnataka, the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is also witnessing a busy registration phase. The last date to submit the online form for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) has been extended to the end of today, February 22, 2026. However, the KEA has clarified that students who finish their forms today can still pay the application fee until February 24. More than 2.8 lakh students have already signed up. If you need to complete your profile, visit the KEA official website immediately.

Other Major State Exams

While some states are closing their doors, others like West Bengal are just beginning. The WBJEE 2026 registration is expected to stay active through March. Similarly, Gujarat’s GUJCET has recently moved into its application correction phase after concluding its primary sign-up window.
