If you're one of the lakhs of candidates who sat for UPTET 2026, you're probably refreshing upessc.up.gov.in every few hours. Here's the good news — the wait is almost over, and here's everything you need to have ready.

The Numbers Behind This Year's Exam

This year's UPTET saw a massive turnout. Nearly 20 lakh candidates registered, and 17.7 lakh actually showed up to write the exam — that's an attendance rate of almost 89%. Split by paper, 7.1 lakh candidates appeared for Paper 1 (primary level) and just over 10.5 lakh sat for Paper 2 (upper primary level).

The exam ran across three days — July 2, 3, and 4 — at 955 centres spread across 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

How Much Do You Need to Pass?

Simple breakdown:

  • General/EWS category: 60% or 90 marks out of 150
  • OBC/SC/ST/PwD/Ex-servicemen: 55% or 82.5 marks out of 150

Good news for anyone worried about guesswork — there's no negative marking. Every correct answer gets you one mark, and wrong answers don't cost you anything.

Where to Check Your Result

Once it's live, you can check your UPTET 2026 result on any of these:

  • upessc.up.gov.in
  • uptet.upessc.org
  • updeled.gov.in

Steps to Download Your Scorecard

  1. Go to upessc.up.gov.in
  2. Look for the "UPTET Result" link on the homepage
  3. Enter your roll number and password (or registration number + date of birth)
  4. Hit submit
  5. Your scorecard will show up on screen — download it and keep a printed copy

What Your Scorecard Will Show

Once it's out, double-check these details carefully:

  • Your name and father's name
  • Registration and roll number
  • Date of birth and gender
  • Category
  • Qualifying marks
  • Overall marks and subject-wise breakdown

If anything looks off, flag it with UPESSC right away — mistakes on official records can cause headaches later.

Passed? Here's What Happens Next

Clearing UPTET gets you a lifetime-valid eligibility certificate (it used to expire after five years, so this is a real win for candidates). But keep in mind — UPTET only makes you eligible to teach. It doesn't hand you a job directly.

Once you have your certificate, keep an eye out for teacher recruitment drives in UP government schools, including exams like Super TET. That's the actual hiring step.

One More Thing — Security Was Tight This Year

UPESSC didn't take chances with cheating. On Day 3 alone, 11 impersonators and one candidate using unfair means were caught, partly thanks to AI-based surveillance at exam centres. So if your paper felt more strictly monitored than usual, that's why.

Bottom Line

Keep your login details — roll number and password — ready at all times. The moment UPESSC activates the result link, traffic on the site is going to spike fast, so being prepared means you won't be stuck refreshing a slow page while everyone else logs in first.
