With SNAP 2025 results out, aspirants are analyzing scorecards and expected cut-offs for SIBM Pune and SCMHRD. Explore the latest admission trends for 2026.

Following the recent release of the Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) results, a comprehensive scorecard analysis has become the primary focus for thousands of management applicants. With the official scores now available on the portal as of January 9, students are shifting their attention to institutional percentile thresholds to gauge their chances of securing a seat in the 2026-28 MBA batch. The current data suggests a slight upward shift in qualifying marks due to the high number of high-scoring candidates across the three December test slots.

Identifying Trends in the 2025-26 Selection Cycle

  • Score-to-Percentile Mapping: Initial data from the scorecard analysis indicates that a raw score of approximately 42–44 marks is required to touch the 98th percentile. This competitive tension is a result of the moderate difficulty level reported in Test 1 and Test 3.
  • Shift in Admission Trends: Unlike previous years, the admission trends for 2026 show an increased preference for balanced profiles. While the SNAP score remains the largest component, institutes are placing greater emphasis on undergraduate consistency during the initial screening.
  • Institutional Benchmarks: SIBM Pune and SCMHRD continue to lead the percentile thresholds for the general category. Candidates with scores below 35 are finding that their qualifying marks are more aligned with mid-tier institutes such as SIOM Nashik or SICSR.
  • Result Normalization: Although SIU does not use traditional normalization, the scorecard analysis reveals how scaled scores have been adjusted to ensure equity among students who appeared for different difficulty-level slots.

Understanding the Merit List Framework

  • Scaled Score Influence: The merit calculation for the final call is strictly based on the scaled SNAP score, which accounts for 50% of the total 100 marks. The remaining 50% is reserved for the GE-PI rounds scheduled for February.
  • Component Weightage: According to current admission trends, the Personal Interaction (PI) round now carries 30 to 40 marks depending on the specific institute, making it nearly as influential as the entrance test itself.
  • Transparency in Results: The current scorecard analysis allows students to see their sectional breakdowns, though it is important to note that most Symbiosis institutes do not enforce strict sectional percentile thresholds.
  • Revised Evaluation: The removal of the Writing Ability Test (WAT) from several SIU programs has simplified the merit calculation, placing the spotlight squarely on the candidate's performance in the Group Exercise.

Expected Cut-off Ranges for Top Institutes

The following table provides an overview of the projected scores and percentiles based on the latest scorecard analysis conducted by education experts this week.

Conclusion

As the scorecard analysis phase concludes, the focus for aspirants now moves toward the qualitative aspects of the selection journey. With admission trends pointing toward a highly competitive year, meeting the minimum qualifying marks is merely the first step. The final merit calculation will ultimately depend on how well candidates can translate their entrance success into a strong interpersonal performance during the upcoming interaction rounds. For now, students must wait for the official shortlists to be released by the respective institutes later this month to confirm their standing against the established percentile thresholds.
