A total of 2,119 candidates have successfully secured admission to MD, MS, and Diploma courses across the state. This critical update shifts the focus to the subsequent mandatory steps of fee payment and physical reporting. The announcement also reveals 254 vacant seats, setting the stage for an intense Round 2 of counselling.

The medical education landscape in Gujarat is buzzing with activity as the Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC) has officially released the Round 1 seat allotment results for the NEET-PG 2025 counselling. This announcement follows the successful conclusion of the choice-filling and seat-lock phase, a crucial stage where thousands of postgraduate medical aspirants declared their preferred colleges and specialties. With the results now public, the focus has immediately shifted to the subsequent, time-bound processes of fee payment and physical reporting at the designated centers. This marks a pivotal moment in the state’s admission cycle, laying the groundwork for the distribution of MD, MS, and Diploma seats. A total of 2,119 candidates have been provisionally allotted seats, marking the first major step towards securing a postgraduate medical career in Gujarat.

Round 1 Allotment Analysis and Key Trends

The release of the seat allotment list has provided key insights into the preferences of top-ranking candidates and the current demand for various medical specialties. Understanding these trends is vital for aspirants preparing for the upcoming counselling rounds.

  • Seat Allotment Figures: A total of 2,119 seats were successfully allotted in the first round. This distribution covers seats under Government, Management, and NRI quotas for MD/MS/Diploma courses.
  • Toppers' Preferences: The highest-ranked students displayed a strong and continuing preference for clinical branches. The most sought-after specialties included:
    • MD Radio Diagnosis: Consistently the top choice, reflecting its high demand in the medical field.
    • MD General Medicine: Closely following, indicating a strong interest in core internal medicine.
    • MD Dermatology, Venereology, and Leprosy: Selected by high-merit candidates like Anjali Kumari (AIR 25), highlighting its prestige.
  • Preferred Institutions: B J Medical College (BJMC), Ahmedabad, which is highly ranked in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), emerged as the top choice for a majority of the top-ranking candidates, reinforcing its status as a premier medical institution in the state.

Essential Post-Allotment Admission Process and Deadlines

For all candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round 1, the next few days are critical, involving strict adherence to the payment and reporting schedule set by the ACPPGMEC. Missing any of these deadlines will lead to the forfeiture of the allotted seat.

  • Online Tuition Fee Payment: Candidates must ensure their tuition fee is paid by the stipulated deadline.
    • Deadline: Up to 3:30 PM on December 5, 2025.
    • Method: Fees can be paid online via the ACPPGMEC portal or by cash/DD at any of the 34 designated Axis Bank branches.
  • Help Centre Reporting and Document Verification: Physical verification of documents is mandatory to confirm the admission. Candidates must report to their assigned Help Centre with all original documents.
    • Reporting Window: From December 2 to December 6, 2025.
    • Special Categories: Candidates under the NRI, In-Service, or those with undergraduate degrees from outside Gujarat or India must report to the GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar for their appointment.
  • Admission Confirmation: Upon successful payment of fees and verification of documents, the candidate's admission will be formally confirmed. Those who fail to complete these steps within the prescribed time will have their provisional allotment automatically canceled.

Analysis of Vacant Seats and Round 2 Implications

The first round's conclusion has left a number of seats vacant, which provides a crucial opportunity for candidates participating in the subsequent phases of counselling. The reasons for these vacancies are vital for candidates strategizing for Round 2.

  • Total Vacancies: Post-Round 1, a total of 254 seats remain vacant.
  • Reasons for Vacancy: The primary reason cited by the committee is "non-conversion," meaning candidates who were allotted seats chose not to take admission. These non-converted seats are now added to the pool for the next round.
  • Quota-wise Vacancy Breakup: The vacant seats are distributed across different quotas:
    • NRI Quota: 143 seats
    • Government Quota: 94 seats
    • In-Service Quota: 17 seats
  • New Seats to be Added: An additional 232 PG medical seats that were recently approved by the state across eight medical colleges (including CU Shah Medical College and Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences) will be incorporated into the seat matrix for Round 2. This expansion is a significant development, as it increases the total PG medical seat count from 2,373 to 2,605, substantially improving the chances for local aspirants in the upcoming rounds.

The conclusion of the Gujarat NEET-PG Round 1 seat-lock phase and the release of the allotment results signify the successful completion of the first phase of this highly competitive admission process. With 2,119 aspirants having secured their postgraduate seats and the window for fee payment and reporting already active, the immediate future demands swift and decisive action from all allotted candidates. The presence of 254 vacant seats, coupled with the announced addition of 232 newly approved seats, sets the stage for a compelling and potentially less restrictive Round 2 of counselling. The ACPPGMEC will release the detailed schedule for the second round shortly, which will be eagerly awaited by those who missed out in Round 1. All eligible candidates must meticulously track the official website, www.medadmgujarat.org, for the imminent release of the Round 2 schedule and seat matrix to plan their next move effectively.
