The institution, Meghalaya's first private medical college, has received an official letter of permission from the National Medical Commission (NMC) to admit 150 students.
Admissions to the PIMC are being conducted through a single-window counselling system by the Meghalaya State Counselling Authority for Medical Education (MSCAMA), under the Department of Health & Family Welfare. All admissions are based exclusively on the scores obtained in the NEET-UG 2025 examination.
Breakdown of Seats and Admission Process:
The 150 MBBS seats at PIMC are allocated across three distinct quotas, each with its own eligibility criteria:
- State Quota (64 seats): Reserved for candidates who are permanent residents of Meghalaya and have a valid ST/SC certificate from the state. The fee for this quota is ₹4,95,000 per year.
- Management Quota (63 seats): Open to all Indian citizens who have qualified NEET-UG 2025. The annual fee for this quota is significantly higher at ₹18,00,000.
- NRI Quota (23 seats): Reserved for Non-Resident Indian candidates. The full course fee for this quota is USD 200,000.

The merit list is prepared by the state based on NEET-UG scores, and candidates must appear for physical document verification to complete the process.
