NMMSS Scholarship 2026–27 Deadline Extended to November 15: Apply Now at scholarships.gov.in

Published 6 Nov 20264 min read

The Union Ministry of Education has extended the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) 2026–27 application deadline to November 15, 2026. This is the third extension in the current cycle, following earlier deadlines of September 30 and October 31 .
Eligible students must complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) and submit their fresh or renewal applications at scholarships.gov.in before the November 15 deadline. The extension also revises verification deadlines: Institute Nodal Officer (L1) verification closes November 30, 2026, and District Nodal Officer (L2) verification closes December 15, 2026 .
Why the extension matters: As of late October 2026, the NSP had received 2,90,014 NMMSS applications—90,483 fresh and 1,99,531 renewals. The extended window gives eligible students who missed earlier deadlines a final opportunity to secure the scholarship for the 2026–27 academic session.
