NEET PG 2026 Answer Key: NBEMS to Release Response Sheet for 2.65 Lakh Candidates for the First Time

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is preparing to release the NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key along with individual response sheets — the first time it has done so — following a Supreme Court directive. Once live, the answer key and response sheets will be available to the more than 2.65 lakh candidates who took the exam, through the official portals nbe.edu.in and natboard.edu.in.

NEET PG 2026 Answer Key: Key Update

NBEMS has not yet announced the exact release date for the answer key. [VERIFY when officially confirmed] The move follows a Supreme Court order from the previous year directing NBEMS to publish raw scores, its answer-key issuance policy, and its result-normalization method. That order carried ten directives in total for NEET PG, among them stricter penalties for seat blocking during counselling.

Why This Time Is Different: The Supreme Court Directive

This is the first NEET PG cycle in which NBEMS will publish an answer key alongside response sheets. The change traces back to a Supreme Court order issued the previous year that pushed NBEMS toward greater transparency — requiring it to disclose raw scores, its process for issuing answer keys, and the method used to normalize results across shifts. The same order introduced stricter penalties aimed at candidates who block seats during MCC counselling. Separately, the NEET PG 2026 information brochure lays out tie-breaking criteria to be used for candidates who end up with identical scores.

What Happens Next

• NBEMS is expected to open the response window before finalizing the answer key, based on how such processes have worked in past exam cycles. [VERIFY — NBEMS has not confirmed an objection window or fee for NEET PG 2026]
• The final answer key and result will follow, with the result due by September 30, 2026.
• Once results are out, MCC counselling is expected to follow, though NBEMS/MCC have not released a specific schedule for this cycle. [VERIFY]
