NEET MIGHT COME UP WITH CHANGES NEXT YEAR

Last year the National Testing Agency (NTA) took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test on 4th May of 2025. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is conducted in India for admission to Medical Colleges in courses like Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Nursing and others.
Although few colleges take an entrance examination of their own, almost all take students through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. The advantage of having students through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is that the Medical colleges don’t have to make an admission framework of their own.
When the NEET question paper got leaked for two simultaneous years, the National Testing Agency certainly sat to look at the loopholes. The first loophole might be the number of students who are sitting for the exam. Since there is no age-related eligibility criteria, the percentage of students who can take advantage of the loopholes in the system is quite high.
To regulate this concern, the University Grants Commission is seriously discussing having a two attempts system. The entrance exam conducted for the engineering colleges do have a two-three attempts system. Although the system was brought to bring down the possibility of any kind of ragging in the engineering colleges, it certainly brought down the possibility of having paper leaks in the framework.
Whether two attempts are going to be held in the same year or two simultaneous years is also being discussed. The two attempts system works for the National Testing Agency in the exams like the Joint Entrance Examination. Whatever comes out as a result of the discussion, the implementation of the result will be held next year.
The National Testing Agency has done great with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) model. The implementation of the Computer-Based Test model might happen next year in NEET too. Upcoming students must keep in mind that all these are “.....might happen…”. Nothing has been officially announced by the National Testing Agency and the testing agency might not talk the walk.
