Along with the merit list, the authority has also started Round 1 online registration for state quota counselling. Eligible candidates can complete their registration until August 15, 2026. The provisional merit list has been prepared based on the NEET UG 2026 scores of candidates domiciled in Assam. It will be used for admission to 85% of state quota MBBS and BDS seats in government medical and dental colleges in Assam. The remaining 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will be handled through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Seats on Offer Under Assam State Quota
The state quota pool covers government colleges only. Assam does not have any private medical or dental colleges. The seat break-up under Round 1 is given below.

Assam NEET UG 2026 Counselling Fee
Candidates must pay a non-refundable counselling fee of ₹500 during online registration. The fee is the same for all categories. An additional ₹1,000 admission fee will be charged only if a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 1.
The payment can be made through:
- Net banking
- Debit card
- Credit card
- UPI
Candidates should note that the applicable fee will not be refunded if they withdraw after receiving a seat allotment.
Who Is Eligible for Assam NEET UG 2026 Counselling?
Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements specified by DME Assam. These include:
- The candidate must have qualified NEET UG 2026.
- The candidate must meet the applicable Assam domicile requirements.
