The Madhya Pradesh Medical Council is accepting applications from Foreign Medical Graduates for clinical clerkship and internship counselling for the December 2024 session.

The Madhya Pradesh Medical Council (MPMC) has announced the commencement of applications for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) seeking clinical clerkship and internship opportunities in the state for the December 2024 session. This initiative aims to integrate FMGs into the Indian medical system, ensuring they receive the necessary training and experience to practice medicine in India.

Application Details and Deadlines

FMGs aspiring to undertake their clinical clerkship or internship in Madhya Pradesh must adhere to the following guidelines:

Application Process: Candidates are required to fill out the online application form available on the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education, Madhya Pradesh. dme.mponline.gov.in

Application Deadline: The application window is open until September 22, 2024, up to 11:59 PM. It is imperative to submit applications within this timeframe to be considered for the December 2024 session.

Selection Criteria: Applications will be accepted on a pro-rata basis, contingent upon the total number of seats available across medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh. The selection process will be based on merit, ensuring that candidates with higher qualifications and performance are given priority.

Counselling and Seat Allotment Process

The counselling and seat allotment for the internship program will encompass the following steps:

Single Round Counselling: There will be only one round of counselling for seat allotment. Candidates must ensure they are well-prepared and have all necessary documents ready for this process.

Merit List Publication: The MPMC will publish a merit list of eligible candidates. Seat allotment will be conducted based on this list, adhering to the principles of merit cum choice and seat availability.

Seat Allocation Sequence: As per the National Medical Commission's guidelines, seat allocation will commence with "Group A permitted colleges" followed by "Group B recognized colleges." This structured approach ensures that candidates are placed in institutions that meet regulatory standards.

Post-Allotment Guidelines

Candidates who secure a seat through the counselling process must follow these directives:

Joining Period: Selected candidates are required to join the allotted medical college or institution immediately, but no later than 10 days from the date of the final allotment list publication. Timely joining is crucial to commence training without delays.

Consequences of Delay: Failure to join within the stipulated 10-day period will result in the forfeiture of the allotted seat, rendering it vacant for other candidates. This measure ensures that all available seats are efficiently utilized.
