The Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chennai has released a notification regarding BTech admission reporting for candidates allotted seats through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 counselling. The official notice is available on the institute's website, mitindia.edu. Candidates who have been allotted seats at MIT Chennai must report to the Chromepet campus between July 27 and July 30, 2026. Only candidates who have received an allotment for MIT Chennai are required to report in person. MIT Chennai is a constituent campus of Anna University and offers BTech programmes in nine engineering disciplines. Admissions are based on the TNEA merit rank and the choices filled by candidates during counselling.

Who Needs to Report at MIT Chennai?

Reporting is mandatory only for candidates who have received an allotment order for MIT Chennai through the TNEA counselling process conducted by Anna University. Candidates allotted seats in other colleges should report only to their respective institutes. Failure to report within the scheduled dates may lead to cancellation of the allotted seat. The vacant seat will then be added to the seat matrix for the next counselling round.

How Can Reporting at MIT Chennai Be Completed?

Candidates must report physically to the MIT Chennai campus during the reporting period.

Follow these steps:

  1. Visit the MIT Chennai, Chromepet campus between July 27 and July 30, 2026.
  2. Carry all original documents along with self-attested photocopies.
  3. Complete the certificate verification process.
  4. Pay the first-year tuition fee as mentioned in the TNEA allotment order.
  5. Collect the admission confirmation slip after successful verification and fee payment.

Candidates should carry the following documents:

  1. TNEA 2026 Provisional Allotment Order.
  2. Class 10 Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate.
  3. Class 12 Mark Sheet and Pass Certificate.
  4. Transfer Certificate (TC) from the last institution attended.
  5. Conduct Certificate issued by the last institution.
  6. Community Certificate (if applicable).
  7. Nativity Certificate (for Tamil Nadu candidates, if applicable).
  8. First Graduate Certificate (if applicable).
  9. Aadhaar Card for identity verification.
  10. Recent passport-size photographs.
