MHT CET 2027 First Attempt Likely From December 15; Check Expected Dates
Published 19 Sept 20264 min read
The MHT CET 2027 first attempt is likely to be conducted between December 15, 2026 and January 15, 2027, according to the timeline indicated by Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell Commissioner Dileep Sardesai. A second attempt is proposed for April 2027. However, the State CET Cell has not yet released the final MHT CET 2027 examination schedule through an official notification.
The proposed schedule would move the first MHT CET attempt considerably earlier than the examination window used in recent years. It would also place the first attempt before JEE Main 2027 Session 1, which is scheduled to begin on January 22, 2027.
MHT CET is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra for admissions to professional undergraduate programmes through the PCM and PCB groups. The official CET Cell documentation lists B.E./B.Tech, B.Pharmacy, Pharm.D, B.Planning and other programmes among the courses associated with MHT CET, along with agriculture-related admissions.
MHT CET 2027 First Attempt: What We Know
The first MHT CET 2027 attempt is proposed for December 15, 2026 to January 15, 2027. The second attempt is expected in April 2027. These are not yet the final examination dates; students should wait for the official notification from the State CET Cell before treating specific dates as confirmed.

The December 15-January 15 window is based on the proposed timeline reported from the CET Cell Commissioner. The State CET Cell is yet to publish the complete 2027 schedule.
Why the MHT CET 2027 Schedule Matters
The proposed first attempt would allow candidates to take MHT CET before the January 2027 JEE Main session. JEE Main Session 1 is scheduled to begin on January 22, 2027, while the Maharashtra HSC written examinations are scheduled from February 8 to March 16, 2027.
For Class 12 students preparing for multiple entrance examinations, the final MHT CET dates will therefore be important for planning revision, board-exam preparation and mock tests.
The CET Cell had already introduced multiple attempts for MHT CET in the 2026 cycle. The proposed 2027 schedule would continue this two-attempt approach, with the second opportunity expected in April.
MHT CET 2027 PCM and PCB Exam Pattern
MHT CET is conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The two main groups are PCM — Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and PCB — Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The latest official MHT CET brochure provides the following pattern for reference:
- PCM: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- PCB: Physics, Chemistry and Biology
- Mode: Computer-based test
- Total duration: 180 minutes
- Negative marking: No negative marking
- In PCM, Physics and Chemistry are followed by Mathematics.
- In PCB, Physics and Chemistry are followed by Biology.
The 2026 official brochure specifies that the first 90 minutes are allotted to Physics and Chemistry, followed by 90 minutes for Mathematics in PCM or Biology in PCB. Candidates should wait for the 2027 information brochure for any changes.
Which Courses Accept MHT CET Scores?
The MHT CET PCM/PCB examination is used for admissions to several professional programmes. The official CET Cell's 2026 information materials include:
- B.E./B.Tech
- B.Pharmacy
- Pharm.D
- B.Planning
- Certain integrated programmes
- Agriculture and allied professional degree programmes
MBA/MMS, MCA and law admissions should not be grouped under the same MHT CET PCM/PCB examination. The CET Cell conducts separate entrance examinations for these programmes.
MHT CET 2027 Registration: What Students Should Know
The MHT CET 2027 registration date has not been officially confirmed. Candidates should monitor the State Common Entrance Test Cell's official portal for the information brochure and application notice.
Students preparing for the examination can keep commonly required academic and identity documents ready, but the final document requirements, fee and application procedure should be checked against the 2027 notification rather than assumed from previous years.
What Candidates Should Do Now
Candidates do not need to wait for the application form to begin preparation. Those targeting the first attempt should plan their preparation around the proposed December-January window.
Students should:
- Track the official CET Cell website for the MHT CET 2027 notification.
- Complete the relevant Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus systematically.
- Separate preparation for the PCM or PCB group according to the intended course.
- Practise computer-based mock tests.
- Keep academic and category documents ready for registration.
- Follow the final examination schedule once officially released.
The most important point at present is that December 15, 2026 to January 15, 2027 is an expected/proposed window, not a confirmed set of examination dates.
