For thousands of engineering aspirants in Maharashtra, tomorrow, July 31, 2025, marks a pivotal moment. The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell Maharashtra) is scheduled to display the Provisional Allotment of CAP (Centralized Admission Process) Round-I for admissions to First Year B.E./B.Tech courses. This much-awaited announcement will determine the provisional college and branch allocation for candidates based on their MHT CET scores, preferences, and the final merit list.

The CAP Round-I seat allotment is a critical stage in the admission cycle, following the online submission and confirmation of option forms by candidates, which concluded on July 28, 2025. With the final merit list already released on July 24, candidates have been eagerly awaiting this provisional allocation to plan their next steps for confirming admission.

Key Dates and Immediate Next Steps After Allotment:

Candidates must be prepared to act swiftly once the results are published. Here are the crucial dates:

  • Display of Provisional Allotment of CAP Round-I: July 31, 2025 (Tomorrow)
  • Accepting the Offered Seat (through candidate's login): August 1 to August 3, 2025
  • Reporting to the Allotted Institute and Confirmation of Admission: August 1 to August 3, 2025
  • Display of Provisional Vacant Seats for CAP Round-II: August 4, 2025

How to Check Your Allotment Status:

Aspirants can check their MHT CET 2025 Round 1 seat allotment status by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official websites of CET Cell Maharashtra: cetcell.mahacet.org or the dedicated engineering admission portal fe2025.mahacet.org.
  2. Click on the link for "Provisional Allotment of CAP Round-I" or a similar notification.
  3. Log in using your Application ID and Password.
  4. Your provisional seat allotment will be displayed. Download and print the allotment letter for future reference.

Understanding Seat Acceptance and Reporting:

Upon checking their allotment, candidates will have specific actions to perform:

  • For Candidates Allotted First Preference (Auto-freeze): If a candidate's first preference college and course are allotted, the seat is automatically "Auto-frozen." Such candidates must accept the seat online and then report to the allotted institute with all original documents and fees to confirm their admission. They will not be eligible for subsequent rounds.
  • For Candidates Allotted Other than First Preference (Self-freeze/Betterment): Candidates allotted a seat other than their first preference can choose between "Self-freeze" or "Betterment."
    • Self-freeze: Accept the current allotted seat and confirm admission, opting out of further rounds.
    • Betterment: Provisionally accept the current allotted seat by paying the seat acceptance fee, and then indicate a willingness to participate in subsequent rounds (Round 2, 3, etc.) for a chance to get a higher preferred college/branch. Even for betterment, provisional acceptance and reporting for document verification are mandatory.

Physical Reporting to the allotted institute within the specified dates (August 1 to August 3) is compulsory for all candidates who accept their seat, whether frozen or opting for betterment. Failure to complete the online acceptance and physical reporting will lead to the forfeiture of the allotted seat.

MHT CET 2025 engineering aspirants are strongly urged to keep a close watch on the official website for tomorrow's announcement and prepare all necessary documents and fees for the subsequent admission formalities.
