While the choice-filling and locking window for this round has already concluded on August 8, candidates are eagerly awaiting the final seat allocation, which will determine their admission to one of Maharashtra's many prestigious colleges.

This round is especially significant for candidates who either did not receive an allotment in Round 1 or opted for "betterment" to upgrade their seats. The seat allotment is based on a candidate's MHT CET merit rank and the college and course preferences they submitted in the option form.

How to Check Your Result on August 11

The Provisional Allotment Result will be made available on the official website of the Maharashtra State CET Cell. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to check your status:

1. Visit the official website: fe2025.mahacet.org.
2. Log in to the candidate portal using your Application ID and Password.
3. On the dashboard, click on the "Provisional Allotment for CAP Round 2" link.
4. The allotment letter will be displayed on your screen, indicating the college and course you have been assigned.
5. Download and print the allotment letter for your records, as it is a mandatory document for the next steps.

Post-Allotment: Crucial Steps and Key Dates

Once the result is out, candidates who have been allotted a seat for the first time in Round 2 will have to make a decision and take action. The timeline for these activities is very strict, and missing a deadline can result in the forfeiture of the seat.

Understanding the Options

Candidates who are allotted a seat will have to choose between a "Freeze" and a "Float" option.

• Freeze: If you are satisfied with your allotted seat and do not wish to participate in subsequent rounds, you can choose to "Freeze" the seat. You must then pay the seat acceptance fee online and report to the allotted institute for document verification and confirmation of admission.
• Float: If you are allotted a seat that is not your first choice but you wish to be considered for a higher-preference college in Round 3, you can choose to "Float". You must still pay the seat acceptance fee and report to the allotted college for document verification to remain in contention for the next round. If you are allotted a new seat in Round 3, your Round 2 seat will be automatically forfeited.

Note: Candidates who were allotted their first-preference college in Round 1 or Round 2 are automatically "auto-freezed" and are not eligible to participate in further rounds.
