This deadline is of utmost importance as it signifies the end of the counselling and admission formalities for the academic year 2025-26. Students who have not yet completed their admission formalities or were still hoping for a last-minute opportunity must act immediately.
The Finality of the Deadline
The MHT CET counselling and admission process for direct second-year engineering courses is comprehensive, spanning multiple rounds of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) followed by institute-level rounds. The final cut-off date ensures that the admissions across all colleges and universities are completed in a timely manner, allowing the academic session to begin without further delays.
This is the final opportunity for candidates who may not have been allotted a seat in the CAP rounds to try for admission directly at colleges, provided there are still vacant seats. However, any admission confirmed after today, September 15, 2025, will not be considered valid by the Directorate of Technical Education.
What's Next for Engineering Aspirants?
For students who have successfully secured a seat and completed their admission formalities, the focus now shifts entirely to academics. Colleges and universities across Maharashtra will soon begin their induction programs and classwork for the new academic year. Aspiring engineers should use this time to get acquainted with their new campuses, faculty, and peers.
For those who may have missed out on securing a seat, this marks the end of their admission journey through the official channels for this academic year. They should start looking at their options for the next academic cycle or explore other engineering courses and streams that might be available.
