Understanding the OTBS and Slot Booking Process
The Online Test Booking System (OTBS) is a critical component of the MET, allowing students to personalize their examination schedule. Unlike many national exams, MET operates on a first-come, first-served basis for selecting test centers and timings.
- The slot booking window is tentatively expected to open in January 2026 for early applicants.
- To log in, students require their application number and the OTBS password (typically the date of birth).
- Upon successful booking, the e-hall ticket is generated immediately and must be carried to the center.
- Once a slot is confirmed, the system does not allow further modifications or rescheduling.
Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Aspirants
Before finalizing the application, candidates must verify their academic standing to ensure they meet the rigorous standards of MAHE’s flagship engineering programs. Failure to meet these requirements can lead to disqualification during the counseling stage.
- Aspirants must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2 (or equivalent) board examinations.
- Physics, Mathematics, and English are mandatory subjects for all B.Tech applicants.
- A minimum aggregate of 50% is required in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (e.g., Chemistry or Biology).
- Scanned copies of a passport-size photograph and signature (under 300 KB) must be kept ready for the digital upload.
Conclusion
The MET 2026 Phase 1 remains a premier gateway for students seeking a high-quality technical education. With the application window closing in a few months and slot booking commencing soon, staying proactive is essential for a stress-free admission experience. Candidates are strongly advised to monitor the official MAHE portal daily for the latest notifications and OTBS activation links.
