MET 2026 Phase-1 Applications Continue as Engineering Aspirants Enter Preparation Mode

As the year 2025 draws to a close, the application window for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2026 Phase-1 remains active, marking a critical period for engineering aspirants nationwide. Conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), this entrance exam is the gateway to prestigious campuses like MIT Manipal and MIT Bengaluru. With the registration portal having opened in late 2025, candidates are now transitioning from administrative tasks to intensive revision as the mid-April examination window approaches.

Core Eligibility and Registration Guidelines

Before initiating the application, students must ensure they meet the academic benchmarks set by the university. The process is strictly online and requires high precision to avoid discrepancies in the hall ticket.

• Academic Qualification: Applicants must have passed or be appearing for the 10+2 (Intermediate) board exams in 2026.
• Subject Proficiency: Physics, Mathematics, and English are compulsory. Candidates need a minimum aggregate of 50% in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject (Chemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology).
• Documentation: Digital copies of a recent passport-size photograph and signature (under 300 KB each) are required for the portal.

MET 2026 Fee Structure and Schedule

Understanding the financial and temporal commitments is essential for a smooth application experience. The university follows a structured fee model for general and international categories.

Navigating the Online Test Booking System (OTBS)

Once the application window closes, registered candidates must engage with the Online Test Booking System (OTBS). This platform operates on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing students to choose their preferred date and venue.

• Slot Selection: Candidates can pick specific batches based on real-time availability.
• Login Credentials: Access requires the application number and an OTBS password, typically the candidate’s date of birth (DDMMYYYY).
• Admit Card: The e-hall ticket is generated immediately after slot confirmation and must be carried to the exam center.

Conclusion

The MET 2026 Phase-1 remains a top priority for students aiming for a world-class engineering education. By completing registrations before the March deadline and familiarizing themselves with the computer-based test environment, aspirants can minimize last-minute stress. To ensure you do not miss critical notifications, you should consistently monitor the official MAHE portal at manipal.edu for the latest announcements on slot booking and admit card releases.
