The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has recently updated the eligibility criteria for the NEET PG 2024 Stray Vacancy Round. These changes aim to streamline the counselling process and ensure fair opportunities for all eligible candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for Stray Vacancy Round

Candidates Without Allotted Seats: Only candidates who do not hold any seat in either the All India Quota (AIQ) or State Quota are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.

Non-Joining Candidates from Round-3: Candidates who were allotted seats in Round-3 but did not join are ineligible for the MCC's Stray Vacancy Round. However, those marked as 'Not Reported' in Round-3 can participate in state PG counselling.

State Quota Seat Joiners: Candidates who have already joined State quota seats in previous rounds are not eligible for the MCC's Stray Vacancy Round.

Non-Joining State Quota Candidates: Candidates who were allotted State Quota seats but did not join are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.

Consequences of Non-Joining in Stray Vacancy Round

Forfeiture of Security Deposit: Candidates who do not join their allotted seat in the Stray Vacancy Round will forfeit their security deposit. Additionally, they will be barred from appearing for the NEET exam in the subsequent year.

Sharing of Data with State Authorities: The data of candidates who joined in Round-3 will be shared with state counselling authorities, and such candidates will be debarred from taking admission in state quota counselling.

Conclusion

These revisions by the MCC are designed to enhance the efficiency and fairness of the NEET PG 2024 counselling process. Candidates are advised to thoroughly review the updated eligibility criteria and adhere to the guidelines to ensure a smooth counselling experience.
