MCC specifies eligibility criteria for NEET PG 2024 Stray Vacancy Round, outlining participation guidelines for candidates.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the eligibility criteria for candidates wishing to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round of NEET PG 2024-25 counselling. This round is crucial for filling remaining postgraduate medical seats across various institutions. Understanding the eligibility requirements is essential for candidates aiming to secure a seat in this phase.

Eligibility Criteria for Stray Vacancy Round

Candidates Not Holding Any Seat: Individuals who have not been allotted any seat in either the All India Quota (AIQ) or State Quota are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round. This provision allows candidates who have not secured a seat in previous rounds to compete for available vacancies.

Non-Joining Candidates from Round-3: Candidates who were allotted seats in Round-3 but did not join are deemed 'Not Eligible' for the Stray Vacancy Round conducted by MCC. However, such candidates are eligible to participate in the State PG counselling. This distinction ensures that candidates who did not join their allotted seats are not considered for the same vacancies in the MCC round.

State Quota Seat Joiners: Candidates who have joined State quota seats in earlier rounds are not eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round. This criterion maintains the integrity of the state-specific allocation process and ensures that seats are filled by candidates who have not previously accepted state quota seats.

Conclusion

The MCC's clarification on eligibility for the Stray Vacancy Round is a significant development in the NEET PG 2024-25 counselling process. Candidates should thoroughly review these criteria to determine their eligibility and plan their participation accordingly. Adhering to these guidelines is essential for a fair and efficient allocation of remaining postgraduate medical seats.
