There is a huge lack of infrastructure related to healthcare services in Maharashtra. Considering this as their accountability, state government has decided to take steps to improve healthcare services of the state. A new district hospital of 100 beds is going to be opened in Latur.
Latur is a district in central Maharashtra where progressive politics plays a huge part in governance of the state. The hospital is going to be inaugurated under the domain of National Health Mission. This has been informed to people by the State Health Ministry. Although these hospitals are inaugurated by the State's Health Ministry which is indirectly elected by the state's population, politics take centre stage when marginalized people are provided educational or healthcare services.
When these hospitals are inaugurated, everyone wants the limelight. State Public Works Minister Shivendrasinh Bhosale will lay the foundation on April 18. Shivendra Sinhraje Bhosale is Latur’s guardian minister also. The function which will be held in College of Agriculture on Nanded Road will be presided by Maharashtra's Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil. Health and Family Welfare Minister of Maharashtra Prakash Abitkar will be the chief guest of the function.
The number of Vidhan Sabha Ministers who are getting involved in this function of inauguration shows how much the Government wants to get involved in opening of a hospital and how much the Government wants to get a certain amount of credit and finally that much amount of votes.
Former Mayor and National Congress Party (NCP) leader, Vikrant Gojamgunde has asked the government to be sensitive at this point and give a huge credit to Shivraj Patil who was from Latur and being looked at as one of the greatest leaders for improving Latur district in all formats.
Although these conflicts among political parties will resolve over a period of time, a huge amount of Latur’s population can feel highly content with a 100-bed hospital getting inaugurated today. We might see such policies for a long time in contemporary times.
