The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has activated the reservation category declaration link for WBJEE 2025 aspirants on its official website, wbjeeb.nic.in. The move comes as a crucial step towards preparing a new merit list and resolving the ongoing delay in result publication.

High school students aspiring for a future in engineering should be aware that this is a mandatory step for all candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and OBC categories who wish to avail of reservation benefits. The official notice requests candidates to log in and update their respective caste/tribe/community details and upload the necessary certificates.

What Students Need to Know:

Deadline: The last date to complete the category updation process is August 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM. After this, no requests for updates will be accepted.
Reason for the Delay: The WBJEE 2025 result has been postponed multiple times due to legal proceedings. The Calcutta High Court recently directed the WBJEEB to prepare a fresh merit list with a 7% reservation for 66 classes of OBC under the old policy. The court had given the board until August 22, 2025, to publish the new merit list.
Result Expectation: With the reservation category declaration process nearing its end, students can expect the WBJEE 2025 results to be released very soon, likely within the next few days, as the board works to meet the court-mandated deadline.
