Candidates should be ready at least half an hour before their shift. That means about 9:30 AM for MCA and 1:30 PM for MBA. The exact login window is printed on the admit card, so check it there [VERIFY]. Candidates who registered for both MBA and MCA receive a separate admit card for each, so check the slot on each one.

  • A valid photo ID proof
  • A working laptop or desktop and a stable internet connection

Exam format

KMAT 2026 has 120 multiple-choice questions divided into three sections of 40 questions each, according to KMAT's official test-structure page. Candidates can move back and forth among the sections.

Exam-day rules

Before the exam

  • Be ready at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
  • Keep the KMAT admit card and a valid photo ID proof with you.
  • Check your network speed, internet connection and laptop beforehand, so the system does not freeze mid-exam.
  • Read the exam instructions carefully before you begin.

During the exam

  • Do not open any other window on your laptop or desktop.
  • If you use a rough sheet, show it to the invigilator first.
  • Stay calm and attempt the paper with confidence.

Conduct

  • No one other than the candidate should be present during the exam.
  • Do not use unfair means. Candidates are expected to take the test honestly.

Set up your system

KMAT 2026 is remote-proctored, so candidates take it from home, and it is monitored by AI and a human proctor.

  • Use a stable internet connection, ideally with a backup such as a mobile hotspot.
  • Keep your laptop charged or plugged in.
  • Confirm the webcam and microphone work [VERIFY the exact requirements].
  • Sit in a quiet, well-lit room.
  • Close all unrelated tabs and applications before you log in.

Admit card

The admit card is available on the official KMAT website, kmatindia.com.

  1. Open the KMAT 2026 admit card link on kmatindia.com.
  2. Log in with your registration details.
  3. Download the admit card and save a digital copy.
  4. Take a printout and keep it with you.

Report any error in the name, photograph or exam date to the KMAT authorities immediately. The practice-test window on September 17 and 18 has ended, so fix any technical problem before Sunday.

After the exam

KMAT is an all-India exam. According to its official website, more than 189 AICTE-approved and university-affiliated institutes in Bangalore and the rest of Karnataka consider its scores for MBA, PGDM and MCA admissions. Candidates can share their scores with the B-schools they select. The website also describes KMAT as the last common entrance exam for MBA/PGDM admissions 2026. Each college applies its own selection process after the result. The result date was not announced in the sources checked [VERIFY].

Candidates need a bachelor's or master's degree from a recognised institution, and the official eligibility page sets a general minimum of 50% aggregate marks. [Read the full KMAT eligibility criteria]
