The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is currently conducting the second round of counselling for the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2025, a critical phase for aspirants seeking admission to M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.E., and M.Arch programs across colleges in Karnataka. With the deadline rapidly approaching, eligible candidates have entered a crucial period for submitting or modifying their Option Entry (Priority of Options) online.

Who is Eligible for Round 2 Option Entry?
The second round provides a crucial opportunity for several categories of candidates:
- Choice 2 Candidates from Round 1: Those who were allotted a seat in the first round but opted to participate in the second round for an upgrade. Their previously allotted seat is automatically retained as their last option. They can only modify or add options that they consider better than their current seat.
- Choice 3 Candidates from Round 1: Candidates who had declined the seat offered in the first round and are now re-entering the counselling process. They must agree to the updated terms and can modify, reorder, or delete their previously entered choices.
- Candidates Not Allotted in Round 1: All eligible candidates who did not receive any seat in the first round are also participating in this second round and must submit their preferred choices.
- Candidates with Surrendered/Cancelled Seats: The seat matrix for Round 2 includes any seats forfeited from the first round, seats newly added by the government, or seats cancelled for any reason, offering a refreshed set of choices.
Advice for Final Option Submission
With the clock ticking, engineering and management aspirants must be extremely cautious while finalising their options. The key advice remains:
- Prioritize Carefully: List your most preferred college and course combination as Option 1, followed by your next best choices in strict descending order of preference.
- Research Thoroughly: Candidates must verify the official seat matrix published by KEA to ensure the college/course is available under their respective category for the second round.
- No Choice After Allotment: A critical point for this round is that there is no Choice Filling option after the second-round seat allotment. Candidates who are allotted a seat in this round must accept it by paying the fees and reporting to the college; otherwise, they will lose their eligibility for any further counselling rounds.
This is the final major opportunity for thousands of students to secure their postgraduate admission for the 2025-26 academic session.
