The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the deadlines for candidates allotted seats in the UG NEET 2026 Round 1 counselling. The September 3, 2026 notice concerns the timelines for choice selection, fee payment and reporting at the allotted college. The update applies to candidates who received seats through the Round 1 final allotment for MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical and dental courses. KEA has advised candidates to follow the revised schedule and complete all pending admission formalities within the extended window. The official KEA website lists the September 3 notice under UGNEET 2026 as an extension of the Round 1 choice-entry dates.
What Has KEA Extended?
The revised notification covers key post-allotment activities for candidates who secured a seat in Round 1.
These include:
- Selection of the allotted-seat option.
- Payment of the applicable course fee for candidates choosing Choice 1 or Choice 2.
- Downloading the required admission documents.
- Reporting to the allotted college with the Seat Confirmation Slip and original documents.
Candidates who have already completed these steps should retain their payment and admission records.

Four Choices Available After KEA Round 1 Allotment
KEA provides four options to candidates after the Round 1 seat allotment.
Choice 1 — Accept and Join
Candidates accept the allotted seat, pay the applicable fee and report to the college. The candidate retains the allotted seat under this option.
Choice 2 — Accept but Upgrade
Candidates accept the allotted seat, complete the required payment and reporting formalities, while remaining eligible to participate in the next round for an upgrade as permitted under KEA rules.
Choice 3 — Reject and Try Again
Candidates reject the allotted seat and participate in the subsequent counselling process according to the applicable KEA rules.
Choice 4 — Exit Counselling
Candidates who choose this option withdraw from the KEA counselling process.
Candidates should select an option only after reading the applicable KEA instructions because the consequences of each choice are different.
