JEECUP 2025 Round 4 Counselling: Revised Schedule Published, Seat Acceptance Deadline Nears
The JEECUP 2025 Round 4 seat acceptance and document verification deadline was extended to August 5. Read the full revised schedule and next steps for the ongoing counselling process.

The Joint Entrance Examination Council, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has released a revised schedule for the ongoing Round 4 of counselling, and the deadline for seat acceptance is approaching. While the original deadline for candidates to make a decision on their seat allotment was August 3, it was extended to August 5, 2025. This revision provided a crucial few extra days for aspirants to pay the required fees, complete document verification, and confirm their seats for admission into various polytechnic courses across the state.
The Round 4 seat allotment results were announced on July 31, 2025, as part of the second phase of counselling, which is open to all qualified candidates from both Uttar Pradesh and other states. With the revised schedule, candidates who had been allotted a seat were required to complete all their admission-related formalities by the new deadline.
Revised Schedule and Key Dates
The revision in the schedule was a significant development, as it provided a last-minute opportunity for many candidates. The key dates for the revised Round 4 are as follows:
- Seat Allotment Result: The results for Round 4 were declared on July 31, 2025.
- Last Date to Accept Seat and Pay Fee: The deadline for candidates to either 'freeze' or 'float' their allotted seat and pay the security fee was extended to August 5, 2025, by 2:00 PM.
- Document Verification: The document verification process for candidates who opted to 'freeze' their seats had to be completed by August 5, 2025, by 5:00 PM.
For candidates who successfully completed these steps by the revised deadline, their admission process for Round 4 is now complete. Those who failed to meet the extended deadlines for payment or verification would have had their seat allotment cancelled.
What is the "Freeze" and "Float" Option?
The counselling process in JEECUP allows candidates to make a strategic choice after their seat allotment.
- Freeze Option: If a candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to them, they can choose the "Freeze" option. By doing so, they accept the seat, pay the security fee, and complete the physical document verification at a designated district help center. This action confirms their admission, and they will not be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling.
- Float Option: If a candidate is not satisfied with their allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round to secure a better-preferred college or course, they can choose the "Float" option. They still need to pay the security fee and get their documents verified. However, by choosing this option, they are considered for seat allotment in Round 5. If they get a better seat, their Round 4 seat is automatically forfeited. If not, they retain their Round 4 allotment.
Next Steps: Round 5 and Beyond
With Round 4 now concluded, JEECUP has already moved on to the next phase of its counselling. The schedule for Round 5 has been announced, with choice-filling beginning on August 6, 2025. This round is another chance for candidates who were not allotted a seat in previous rounds, or those who opted to "float" their seats in Round 4. The seat allotment for Round 5 will be declared on August 9, 2025.
Candidates must be proactive in monitoring the official JEECUP portal for all updates. The entire counselling process is conducted online, and missing any deadline can lead to the loss of a seat. It is a critical period for all aspirants, and adhering to the revised schedules and instructions is paramount to securing a place in their desired institution.
