With the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 officially ending today, experts are releasing their final cutoff predictions for the qualifying rounds. For the general category, the expected percentile to qualify for JEE Advanced is projected to be between 93.5 and 95.5. The high volume of candidates this year is a major factor influencing these predictions. Aspirants are using these trends to decide whether to focus on the April session to improve their NTA scores.

The conclusion of the January session has led to a flurry of activity in the academic community regarding the expected Cutoffs. Because the NTA scores are based on a percentile system, the record-breaking number of test-takers this year is expected to push the Predictions slightly higher than in 2025.

Education analysts suggest that the "safe score" for securing an NIT seat in a core branch may require a percentile above 98. However, for just qualifying for JEE Advanced, the Cutoffs will be lower. Detailed Predictions indicate a range of 93-95 percentile for unreserved candidates.

  • Category Breakdown: SC/ST Cutoffs are expected to hover around 61 and 48 percentile, respectively.
