The focus for over a million B.Tech hopefuls is on the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration portal. With less than 36 hours remaining before the window slams shut, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is witnessing a massive surge in traffic. For regular updates on center allotment and city intimation slips, follow Only Education News.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a final reminder that the registration and fee payment window for the JEE Main 2026 April Session (Session 2) will officially close tomorrow, February 25, 2026. Prospective candidates, including those who wish to improve their Session 1 scores and fresh applicants, must complete their submissions on the official portal, jeemain.nta.nic.in. As of this morning, NTA has clarified that there is no proposal to extend this deadline further, given the tight schedule leading up to the April exam dates.

To stay updated on the "Correction Window" dates following the registration close, follow Only Education News.

Final Countdown: Key Registration Timings

Candidates must be mindful of the specific cutoff times tomorrow to ensure their candidature is not invalidated due to payment delays.

Critical Checklist for Session 2 Applicants

Whether you are a "Existing Candidate" (from Session 1) or a "New Candidate," ensure the following points are checked:

  • For Existing Candidates: You do not need to register again. Simply log in with your Session 1 Application Number and Password, select the "Session 2" paper, and pay the examination fee.
  • For New Candidates: Ensure that the Aadhaar Authentication or Non-Aadhaar identification (Passport/Pan Card) is verified correctly to avoid "Identity Mismatch" errors.
  • Photo Guidelines: The uploaded photograph must be recent, with 80% face coverage against a white background. NTA’s AI-based verification system may flag blurred or old photos.

Why the April Attempt is Crucial

The April session is often viewed as the "Rank Decider." Since NTA considers the Best of Two NTA scores for the final All India Rank (AIR), the April attempt allows students who faced technical issues or "tough shifts" in January to recover. Furthermore, the final eligibility cutoff for JEE Advanced 2026 will only be determined after the April results are merged with the Session 1 data.

Common Errors to Avoid in the Final Hours

  1. Payment Failure: Avoid using UPI during the final hours; Net Banking or Credit Cards are recommended for faster reconciliation.
  2. Multiple Applications: Do not fill out more than one form. Multiple applications from the same candidate will lead to debarment under the Unfair Means (UFM) clause.
  3. Category Selection: Ensure your Category (EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST) is correct. While you may not need the certificate now, an incorrect selection cannot be changed during the JoSAA counselling phase later.
