The Application process for Joint Entrance Examination 2026 has, finally, begun. This is the second step after JEE Main for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology. The Indian Institute of Technology are at various places in India but some of them are considered quite premiere. The application process that has just started will go on till May 2, 2026.

The examination for these premiere institutes will take place on May 17, 2026. Although the syllabus of JEE Main and JEE Advance is quite similar, the difficulty level of the examination increases exponentially. The JEE Main exam happens as a three hour test but JEE Advanced exam is an examination that takes place as a six hours test as two tests of three hours each with a break of two hours in between.

Although it’s a common norm to think that the Joint Entrance Examination takes place for all the Indian Institute of Technology’s but certain institutes of India like Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore prefer this exam for their admission process. Also, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram prefers JEE Main for their application process but a huge number of students who get into IIT consider either IISc or IIST as their second option.

Only candidates who have cleared JEE Main in January or April will be considered for the JEE Advanced Examination. Clearing JEE Main is considered as an eligibility criteria. While applying for the examination of JEE Advance Exam, the application process will always take personal details through Registration Number of JEE Main. Applicants hardly need to fill in any details while applying for the exam.

Both papers cover core subjects, including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and will cover analytical skills and problem-solving abilities of candidates. Applicants who are eligible should apply for the examination as soon as possible. Interested Candidates are advised not to wait for the deadline and register timely
