The Indian Maritime University (IMU) in Chennai has extended the deadline for the Postgraduate Diploma in Maritime Sustainability (PGDMS) for the 2026-27 academic year. Now, eligible candidates can apply online until July 24, 2026, through the official website at imu.edu.in. The previous deadline was July 17, 2026. The PGDMS is a full-time, non-residential diploma program offered at the IMU Chennai campus. It focuses on green shipping, environmental regulations, and sustainable maritime practices and is conducted over two semesters.

Who is eligible to apply?

The program is open to graduates from any recognized university. The eligibility criteria set by IMU are as follows:

1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
2. Applicants must have scored at least 60% in their qualifying degree.
3. Candidates must have secured a minimum of 50% in English at the class 10, class 12, or degree level.
4. There is a 5% relaxation in qualifying degree marks for SC and ST candidates.
5. The English marks requirement applies to all categories, and no relaxation is provided.

How to apply for the PGDMS program?

Candidates must complete the application process through the official online form on the IMU admissions page. Follow these steps:

1. Visit the IMU admissions portal at imu.edu.in/imunew/admissions-2026-27.
2. Open the PGDMS 2026-27 online application form.
3. Enter your personal, academic, and contact details.
4. Upload scanned copies of the required documents in the required format.
5. Review all the information you've entered carefully.
6. Submit the application form before July 24, 2026.
